Strifebound Development Update 04/10/2026

This week we tested the changes made to version 0.1.5 of our core rule set, as well as the horde and creature size mechanics that we’ve been building since the beginning.

The changes introduced to morale and movement worked as expected, so we’ll be leaving those in, but we did find a balancing issue with the morale effect on smaller creatures and possibly the way our horde mechanic actually works. However, as the morale impact on smaller creatures had such a big impact on the horde, we’re going to focus on that before re-testing hordes in their current format.

So with that in mind, we’ll now start work on version 0.1.6 which will address the following:

  • Re-working the morale effects on smaller creatures facing larger ones
  • Possible introduction of a pile in mechanic
  • Review of attack allocation in close combat

Development of our first stand alone game.

We’ve now reached a point with our core system that we feel ready to begin work on producing our first stand alone game.

This may seem odd as our core system is, by all measures, still very early in development. But the scope of that project is way beyond any single game and our focus to date has been in developing the modules required to produce our first rule book.

So, we’re very happy to announce that the rules for this game are close to being finalised and work has begun on a draft copy of the book.

As we mentioned in our last update, we’re having to use AI Images and logos as filler for now, but once we have all the content laid out we should be in a position to replace them with photos and proper graphics. At which point we can share some sneak peeks with you all.
